What Is IFOS, Why Does It Matter and How Can You Check It?

AMPLECARE QUALITY GUIDE

What Is IFOS?

What the program examines, why batch information matters and how to check applicable Amplecare fish oil products.

Independent laboratory testing concept

What is IFOS?

IFOS™ stands for International Fish Oil Standards. It is an independent testing and certification program operated by Nutrasource for fish oil products. Participating products may have product and batch information published in the Nutrasource Certified Products database.

01

Label Claim

Testing can compare measured omega-3 content with the applicable product specification.

02

Contaminants

Reports may include results relating to contaminants covered by the program criteria.

03

Stability

Oxidation-related measures help describe the condition of the tested fish oil batch.

WHY CHECK IFOS?

Because the batch is part of the information.

A brand statement alone does not show which product or batch was tested. Checking the Nutrasource entry helps you confirm the product name and review any batch-specific information currently made available.
